Pathology is one of the important clinical support services that provide wide range of services for a comprehensive patient’s care. The department is committed in providing excellent services with updated technology to cater the needs of patient healthcare, education and research and becoming a referral centre for the nation.

OUR OBJECTIVE
- To provide diagnostic and consultative services in Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Anatomic Pathology and Microbiology
- To provide training in clinical, technical and analytical skills for the department members, trainees, personnel from other government or private hospitals, institute of higher learning and other related government and private agencies
- To provide consultative services to all the clinical disciplines concerning matters related to pathology services
- To conduct and assist research and development in pathology and other relevant clinical areas of interest.
OUR SERVICES
1. CHEMICAL PATHOLOGY
Chemical Pathology deals with detecting changes in a wide range of substance such as electrolytes, blood gases, enzymes, glucose, proteins, lipids, hormones and etc. In the blood and body fluids in association with many diseases. Services provided include the pre-analysis, analysis, and interpretation of biochemical changes in serum/plasma and body fluids for screening, diagnosing, and monitoring of diseases, as well as consultation for diagnostic and research purposes.
2. HAEMATOLOGY
Routine haematological tests such as complete blood count (CBC), Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), coagulation profile, fibrinogen, and peripheral blood film.
3. MICROBIOLOGY
Diagnostic and research services which comprise of bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunology, and parasitology. Participation in hospital infection control activities related to antibiotic monitoring and surveillance, as well as control & prevention of hospital acquired infections
4. ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY
Histopathology
5. TRANSFUSION MEDICINE
Transfusion services such as blood grouping, antibody screening, cross matching and provides blood components to a patient. [UPCOMING]

- Macroscopic and microscopic examination of tissue specimens with interpretative diagnosis.
- Diagnostic and screening services based on the morphologic study of cells. It is divided into "Gynae Cytology" and "Non-Gynae Cytology"
